Postrunner – Video Guide and Review
If you do any kind of SEO type of online marketing then you know that linkbuilding is one of the things that you MUST do to make your sites rank well in the search engines. One of the places that I get backlinks from on a daily basis is from Postrunner at The KeywordAcademy.
Here is a quick video explaining how to use postrunner to get backlinks.
What is Postrunner?
Postrunner is a guest blogging system run by Mark and Court at The Keyword Academy. I was a member there when they developed it (and have never left because it works so well) I think at one time there were some plans to market postrunner as it’s own link building system seperate from The Keyword Academy but that never happened.
This is to your advantage, because it is not well known, even though it works very well.
What kind of results I personally get with Postrunner.
I use postrunner for long term stability.
About a year and a half ago I used the postrunner system to promote a site that I was trying to gain traffic to. I set a goal of posting 50 articles (at the time you only needed 150 words and got 1 link per article) and I posted 3 a day each linking to a different page on my site. When I got through the list of pages I started over at the beginning and did it again until I had fifty links from the system pointing to this particular site.
I haven’t touched the site since. Literally, I have not changed anything, added any content, or done any linkbuilding. Last month on that site I made a little over $110 between adsense and ebay and my busy months are in the springtime. So, those 50 short articles have made me at least $1800 dollars over the course of the last year and a half. Not too shabby.
I use postrunner to move rankings from page 2 to page 1
I recently had a site that I had several decent keywords on page two rankings for Google. This is frustrating, because page 2 rankings don’t get near the traffic that page one rankings get. I targeted those keywords with 3 to 5 articles each from postrunner and every single one of the keywords moved to page one. Because I improved my rankings for that site I made $92 last month from it. I had made very little before improving my rankings.
I use postrunner as a base layer of links so my sites don’t do the Google dance quite so much.
Before I do any kind of mass linkbuilding to a site (like ezarticlelinks) I will get between 6 and 12 from postrunner to that site. I have found that this helps to stabilize the site so that it doesn’t “dance” around so much in Google when you start building other links to it.
I use postrunner to unstick sites:
If I have a site that is stuck at a certain traffic level or ranking I will build one postrunner link a day to it for however long it takes to become “unstuck”. I’ve done this for as long as a month to six weeks. It is important to build links to the interior pages as well as the home page, but the results from this have never failed me.
I would have to say that postrunner gives me the most consistent results of any link building strategy I use.
Why does Postrunner work so well?
When you post to the Postrunner system you are guest posting on other peoples blogs. All the blogs within the system are owned by seperate individuals. Because of this all the IP addresses are different. This gives your links natural link diversity, which is VERY important when you are getting links back to your site.
Also, your links are in content links, which seem to work better for me than bio box types of links.
Are there any downsides to using Postrunner?
I’ve used the postrunner guest blogging system for about a year and a half now and for me there are very few downsides. But I will go over the ones that I see. First, you can only access postrunner if you joine the Keyword Academy and although there support is excellent there is not a lot of training for Postrunner specifically. The answer to this is to watch the above video and read this post. Also, if you have questions about how it works just comment on this post and I will help you with it.
Another potential downside is that postrunner requires original content. Original content does take a lot of work, but it also makes the blogs that receive postrunner content much stronger, so your links will have more weight with the search engines. Personally, I view the original content rule as more of a plus than a minus. I like to have some links that I know are not diluted by spun content on the site.
The only other possible downside to using postrunner is that every post has to be approved by the blog owner. Mark and Court from The Keyword Academy require all posts to be approved (or not) within 7 days, so they are never sitting around for long. If they aren’t approved or are rejected you can simply submit to another blog on the network.
How to get the most from your Postrunner Links:
There are two quick things I do to get more mileage from my links.
#1. When my summary report comes in of all the approved posts I use ezartilcelink bonus links on them. This helps to get them indexed fast. You could also bookmark them if you prefer.
#2. When at all possible I use the two links per article that I get to link to two different sites. This gives me more bang for my buck than using both links to point to one site.
How Much Does Postrunner Cost?
The only way to access Postrunner is to join the Keyword Academy. They have a one month free trial and then it is $33.00 a month after that. You can see the free trial offer here.
