who is heather hyvarinenWith the release of my new guide Internet Outsourcing Mastery it seems my name (Heather Hyvarinen) is getting out there.

I’ve noticed that people are searching for me, which feels a little weird….

But since folks are searching I thought I should tell you all a little bit about myself.

Who I am.

That is a question that can be answered a whole lot of ways…  It all depends on the role you find me in at the moment.  Here are some of my roles.

  • Business owner
  • Manager of outsourced workers
  • Wife
  • Mom
  • Girl Scout Leader
  • Friend

There are more of course, but those are the main ones at the moment.     In fact, even though I make a full time living from my business, if you were to ask me I would say that wife and mom are way more important to me than business owner (although I DO love my business).

In fact the whole reason that I run an internet based business is so that I can be home after school every single day with my kids.  That is REALLY, REALLY important to me.

Kids come first.

You see I started exploring opportunities to make money online about 3 and a half years ago now… WHEW, time sure flies.   At that time I was a retail manager and I was desperate to leave my job.

The reason I was so desperate?

Well, my husband and I had just become foster parents of two beautiful girls we were planning to adopt (and did adopt a year later-and they still make me smile every day).  My priorities shifted overnight. I went from loving my job to despising the time it took away from my family.

So I started looking for ways to make enough money that I can work from home.

Then I stumbled into Internet Marketing

And stumbled is exactly the right word.  I bought an ebook that explained affiliate marketing (and made it look way easier than what it is), and got started.

I had some pretty fast success with PPC, saved a bunch of money and quit my job.    Then big G changed the PPC rules and all my earnings went splat!

So I turned to SEO (search engine optimization), BUT I didn’t even know what SEO was at the time.  I just heard that you can make money with blogs… so I tried that,  and I failed… a lot.

But I had just enough success to keep me going so I just kept trying and I finally found WordPress Goldmine, run by Mark Thompson who just wrote about me on his blog which you can see here.

How cool is that???  (Thanks Mark!)

Anyhow… I digress…

I asked a ton of questions at the WordPress Goldmine forum and Mark and other’s were nice enough to answer them for me and I kept plugging away at my business.    I didn’t give up and somewhere about 2 and a half years into the process things started to really click for me.

I started seeing my income increase month over month.  I hired a gal from the Philippines to help me (she is awesome by the way), and my income just started growing, and that is where I am at now.

My Supercool Life

I have to say that being me, Heather Hyvarinen, is pretty cool.  I have an amazing family that I get to hang out with.  My husband is super supportive of me (thanks Jim!) I have a successful business that pays the mortgage.  Life is good.

So even though I don’t hang out on the beach every day, and I work a lot at what I do to grow my business, I have to say I am living the dream or at least my dream, and it is a blast.

To Your Success!

Heather Hyvarinen
