The Bum Marketing Method Is Definately Not About That Kind Of Bum.

The bum marketing method (despite it’s name) is not about sitting on your bum and watching the money roll in.  This method of marketing was developed by Travis Sago, whom I’ve had the pleasure of meeting over at Wealthy Affiliate University.

Travis developed this method of marketing with the claim that it is so easy even a bum off the street could do it.

And he is right.  Basically what bum marketing involves is using the power of high PR article directories to get ranked on the first page of google for low competition keyword phrases.  If all of this sound like gobbly goo to you right now, don’t worry… I’m getting there.  Bum marketing is also called article marketing by some.  The names are nearly interchangable.

The basics of the Bum Marketing Method

#1. Pick a niche market to promote to.  (If you don’t know how to do this here is how to get a great free resource)

#2. Do keyword research.  Go to Googles Keyword Tool (just google it) and look up a broad keyword like dogs.  Google will tell you a whole bunch of other keywords that you can target as well.   Pick a more refined keyword like german shepherd dogs, and type that in.  This should lead you to a whole bunch of words that people search with that are much more specific like "get my german shepherd to stop barking".  Make a list of these long tail keywords.

#3. Look up your chosen keywords in quotes in google like this "get my german shepherd to stop barking".  If there are less than 5000 results for that keyword in quotes then mark it as a keyword that you will use.

#4.Build a squidoo lens with your affilate link for your product. In this case a ‘how to train your dog’ product.  Then write articles with the identified keywords in the title, in the body 2 times, and in the closing.  Submit your article to major article directories with a link back to your Squidoo lens.

The key to making the bum marketing method work.

This technique works great, and can even produce job ending income.  The key to it working really well is consistent daily effort.  Even if that means only writing one article a day for your niche market.
