A little bit about me – My husband and I have been happily married for 14 years.  He is absolutely fantastic.  Last year we started fostering our two beautiful daughters (they are now officially ours, the adoption was August 20, 2008), and at that time I was a retail manager, and my husband was a local driver.  Up until the girls joined our family it had only been us.  I loved retail.  I worked in a small specialty shop and really enjoyed it.  My schedule had never really mattered because it was only me and Jim.

Isn’t it funny how kids change your perspective?

I loved my job and I was happy there until we had children.  When the girls joined our family everything started to change.  We had them in afterschool care, but our evenings rushed, and that was never around much of the weekends.  This left a lot of the parenting responsibilities to my husband.  He was a trooper, and did a really great job.  But that didn’t change the fact that I missed my family and I wanted to be home more.

When there are things I don’t like in my life, I go about changing them.  I’m not much of a whiner.  I just try to make things work.  This is no different.

I started looking at other ways to make money.  I looked for other jobs, and even interviewed for some of them.  I tried a couple things on line, to see if those things would work for me.  But I got nowhere fast.  Then I stumbled across Wealthy Affiliate University.  It’s this "school of reality" for new internet marketers.  When I started with Wealthy Affiliate University, I knew nearly nothing about making money on line. But, the tuition is incredibly affordable, and the course build itself as a no-nonsense, no BS approach to making money online.

So I tried it.  I started in October of 2007.  This might not have been the best decision for me, because in November and December I did almost nothing.  I was elbow deep in Christmas seasonat my store, and with my new family had no extra time.  So, I started back up in January and worked really hard.  I had my first sale in February of 2008, and was making enough money to quit my job in June of 2008.  Now I’m home with my kids when they get off the bus.  Evening time is a lot more fun around our house these days.
